Today was Capertee Valley day. We took our picnic and our map and drove down into the valley which is famous for its birdlife.

We stopped many times and walked into different areas - some were recovering it from a recent burn...

... others were like Tuscan landscapes.

And one section reminded us of the eroded sandstone in Bryce Canyon, USA.

The red sandstone cliffs that enclose the valley looked very impressive.

We saw quite a few kangaroos and this, which we think is a black wallaby
