Day twenty

Last night we walked down to the Bronte seafront and had fish and chips - or barramundi in a lime sauce with chips in my case
Barramundi and chips
A marathon day at the Sydney Olympic Park. We made extensive use of the transport network today. A bus, a train, a train and on other train. All to get to the Olympic Park that was built for the 2000 Olympics and has now become a lot of stadiums and hotels surrounded by parkland and wetlands. The site was previously used as a saltworks, brickworks and abattoir.  It is much better now. We managed to walk round most of the good bits!
Our route.
There were well made paths and abundant wildlife on a variety of wetland environments. The first was a mangrove swamp.
Mangrove
Then on to the ponds.
Water
Black wing stilts
Immature black swans
Two pelicans passing overhead
The noise of cicadas was very loud at one point and I managed to spot the offenders..
Red eyed black cicada
And more spiders than you could shake a very big stick at....
Spider alley
And they were big ones!
Spider!
